This year’s Fall Conference was really amazing! The theme was Re-Jesus. Throughout the week we were learning about leading the way Christ lead. One of the major things that caught me was the three styles of leaders. The first was the Factory manager. This is the leadership style were you have a method and expect results, this often yields similar results. The problem with this is if you lead and teach everybody this way they come out like automobiles, nice new and ready to perform, but lifeless. In fact a factory takes something that has a life and kills it so that it conforms to the needs. The second style of leadership is the Forester. This persons allow those they lead the freedom to grow their own way. Although this provides life and freedom, it also allows other things in the life such as weeds or poison ivy. The third style is the style Christ lived. This is the style of the gardener. The Garden has form and purpose. The plants are basically the same. They are protected from weeds and other things, but they all still grow into unique plants and give different fruits and flowers. Each one is unique. I want to lead in this way!
During the week we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Josiah Venture! It is amazing to see all that God has done through JV over the last 20 years. He brought it from two couples in a hard situation who had to form their own non-profit, to an organization with over 250 staff with the majority being nationals! It has grown from 2 countries to 13. We celebrated this summer the 1000th camp nearly 60,000 students have heard the Gospel through these camps! Please check out this video: 100th camp. Check out this video from one student who shared what happened through a camp: Testimony. Amazing stuff! We have a long video with more students that I will share when it becomes available. I am so amazed at what God has done and look forward to what He will do! I know we will see revival! Please pray for God’s movement among the youth of Central and Eastern Europe, that it will impact the church and society causing radical change!!
