This summer has been a learning experience for me. Starting off the summer with the medical problems I had, to taking on two major programs at the same time, and leading 9 interns; this summer has been stretching! God has been teaching me that He is more than enough! I know that I would not have been able to handle half of the things I needed to lead this summer with out his help! I am constantly learning what it means to lead. It seems that every time I think I have figured out something in leadership I am surprised around the next corner. The one thing I have learned from this summer is that a leader is someone who serves. If I am always looking towards how I can serve others I am usually in the right place as a leader. I have never had the leadership responsibility that I have had this summer and I don’t know that I realized exactly what I was getting into at the beginning of the summer. Thankfully God taught me the lesson earlier about the importance of constantly bringing life back to the Word. Many times I have wanted to solve things in my own wisdom, but have brought it back to the Word of God. It never ceases to amaze me how powerful the Word of God is. Even as I watched Erik read his Bible at the last camp I could see God changing him. I want this to continually be a passion and a focus of mine!
