As I have written before, I took on a new role this year, in our organization, as the Intern Director. This has been a great role for me this summer. I was able to make some changes to the way we do interns to promote health both for the interns and our staff. This seemed to work well as we went through the summer. We all agreed at the end of the summer, that it was a lot less stressful, this year, then it has been the last years and we really had healthy growing interns.
The interns were very involved in all our ministries and we spent a lot of time with them through the summer, but there were two times in the summer that we meet together as the whole intern group, once in the middle of the summer and once in the end. These were times of growth, fun, and rest for the interns, for us they were great opportunities to invest in the interns and their growth. We ended the summer well in Vienna and had a good time saying goodbye and sending them off into the world after an intense summer of growth. As I think about this new role, I am constantly trying to come up with new ideas to grow the ministry and the opportunities for Interns to grow. During October, I am going to be in the U.S. recruiting interns, if you have anyone ages 19-26 who you think would be a good intern, please write to me and let me know!
