This year I spent Christmas again with two different families. As we do every year, I had the Poloha’s over to my house for a Christmas celebration the Sunday before Christmas. This was a great time to spend with them outside of work! For Christmas Eve and Day, I visited the Millers in Poland. Many of you know Korban, Tanya, and the kids. This was such a precious time to see where they live and to experience the joy of children at Christmas! We had a challenge during the time, as the hot water heater was not working. Although this was a challenge, it forced us to be close to one another and really fellowship.
As the holidays are about community, friends, family, and Christ; I really enjoyed the time I could spend with each of these families. The Poloha’s and I have had this tradition for 6 years now. I have seen their kids grow up and experience the increase in talent as they always perform a song for me. I have seen them grow in maturity and physically. What a blessing to spend this time with them!
The time with the Miller’s was sweet in many ways. One of the major ways was the close Fort Wayne feel to our Christmas, it was about as close to home as I could get here. I loved seeing the town and house where they live. We also had church together. They have a home church that meets in their house a couple times a month. I loved being able to get to know their church and context there in Poland. It is always great to put faces and places with stories. Another thing I loved was the individual time I got to spend with each of them, talking, playing games, and building trains/models. The kids are such a joy for me to be around. Please pray for them as the serve God in Poland through Fusion!
