I made it back to Europe just in time to take the equipment down to this years Josiah Venture Kids camp. Every year this camp is so much fun and so encouraging to see so many young kids seeking to follow the Lord and learn more what it means to be a Third Culture Missionary Kid. This year we studied the theme of Prayer. My guys were the oldest boys at camp and therefore took on some leadership roles. This was challenging for them, but they did a good job with it. We also had some fun activities like Air Soft and canoeing. The weather was absolutely amazing and the spiritual atmosphere even more amazing. God has really blessed the time at camp.
One of the major roles my guys had, was to lead worship at the campfire with the girls their age. They did a wonderful job of leading us to the Lord in worship. They were also challenged to go and speak to the young 8 year old boys. They told them about camp and some lifehacks for being a missionary kid. After they did this I noticed that the rest of the camp those young boys were following these two around and looking up to them. They would ask questions about camp, they would play with them, and ask them to help looking up Bible verses. I am so proud of these guys and their leadership. God is really growing them into great young men!
During the camp, our theme was prayer. We learned about how we are to pray as Jesus taught us. It seemed like this was very good for a lot of the kids who didn’t realize how many ways you can pray. They were each able to find a way that helped them connect to God. During the week we memorized Matthew 6. All the kids memorized the chapter and some even more. Please pray for these kids!
