The last two weeks I had the opportunity to go on a trip to California with my sister, Becca. We went to visit my cousins, Andrew and Erin and their kids, who I have not seen for almost 8 years. We also spent time going on a road trip to San Francisco and Yosemite. The time with my sister was precious and something I would not have thought would happen when I moved to Slovakia. I was also incredibly grateful to spend time with my cousins and get to know them better along with their two children.
As I wrote above, Becca and I had the opportunity to visit my cousins. The time with Andrew, Erin, Leah and little Shane was amazing. It was so fun to see their lives and where God is using them in Los Angeles to spread His fame. Erin is a rescue nurse at the local Children’s Hospital, going out and helping with emergencies all around the region involving children. Andrew works in Hollywood as an Associate Producer, adding his input into the media world. I am thankful to hear that there are Christians trying to make a difference in the hollywood world. I also throughly enjoyed getting to know their kids as well. They brought so many laughs and so much joy. On Sunday, we had the opportunity to visit their church and to meet some of their friends. I thoroughly love experiencing the context of other peoples lives. Please pray for Andrew and Erin as they live as followers of Christ in L.A.
Afterwards, Becca and I went on a road trip to some of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We drove up Route 1, by far the most beautiful drive I have done. We spent time in San Francisco and even met a friend there. We traveled out to Yosemite and hiked out see Half Dome. Afterwards, we drove down through Death Valley to L.A. It was so great to fellowship with Becca and get to know each other better as adults. I also appreciated the opportunity to see some amazing parts of God’s creation. Isn’t our God creative?
