You may have heard me talk about the JV intern Amazing Race before. It is an experience that JV does at the beginning of the summer for all the interns who come to serve in JV for the summer. The purpose is to put the teams through a potentially stressful race that allows them to quickly get to know their other team members and for the leaders to know what to expect in the summer from their members when under stress. Each year a different country hosts the race. This year it was Slovakia. My colleagues Ed, Cory, and I were in charge of the race. It was fun to plan, but also consumed a lot of time as there were thousands of details to work out in order to move 165 people across the country for three days. Thankfully God got us through it!
We had been planning this race for months, but in the final days of May our schedules began to fill more and more with it. There were so many details to figure out. Finally, the race began and there were even more things to figure out. The race was not only amazing for the interns, but also for us to keep it under control. In the end people seemed to really like it and learn from it. It was by far one of the most stressful things I have ever planned. I am glad it is finally over and I have a breather for a little bit. Please pray for the interns serving throughout JV this summer and the students they will impact!
