This last year God blessed me with two great friends right next to me. They have made life enjoyable and exciting at every turn. Although they are leaving I am excited for them, I am also looking forward to new people coming into my life this coming year.
Roman was my roommate for the last year. He was a Theology student, who had already finished a degree in Computer technology and decided to go back to school to study Theology. He has been such a constant encouragement to me and a sounding board for me in a lot of areas. He is a guy with such a big heart for people and an even bigger smile. He has left to go and serve God with Wycliff in Tanzania, Africa. This is a huge step for him and I am thankful that he is listening to God’s voice, although I will miss him immensely!
Suska is the daughter of Danny Jones, who I mentioned in my last blog. She took a break from school this last year to come and teach in the school our church runs. She was Roman’s and my neighbor. I am thankful for her energy and passion for life! She has been a good friend, a sounding board for me as well and has challenged me in many areas of my life. She has now gone back to Conway, Arkansas to finish school. I know God has great things planned for her there, but she will be missed.
I had so many great times with these two, Canoeing, Rock climbing, Skiing, going for drinks, playing board games, serving at camp together, eating pizza, listening to music, laughing together and so much more. These two have challenged me to grow in so many ways and brought so much pleasure to my life. I am thankful for both of them!
Although I am saying goodbyes, I have the opportunity to welcome some new people. The Rumbolds, who I have written about a lot, are moving to Banska Bystrica from Bardejov. I am so excited to have them near me, to be encouraged and challenged by them and to have another family near me. I am also glad to have their two sons, Jayce and Tate around to be able to invest in. I also have a new roommate moving in. His name is Zack. I don’t know him that well, but he is coming to teach in the school and I am looking forward to what God has in this next year with him.
