This weekend we were able to go with our local Fusion team to the Josiah Venture Leadership academy. The Academy is something new that JV is doing which is less focused on spiritual training for people, but more practically on how to lead and equipping people with new skills. The theme this year was on building and maintaining effective teams. We were trained by Dr. Charles Bradshaw, a pastor from California, who specializes in leading effective teams. We were quite blessed as a team by his leading and by having extensive time to spend together growing our team.
I felt really blessed by the time with our team. I think it has been something we have needed for a long time! We were really able to talk about our team and to share personal things that we can support each other in. I am excited to see where this time will take our team in the future! We also had individual seminars that we could sign up for during the training. One of the ones I signed up for was sound engineering. This was led by a professional sound man who works in Nashville recording musicians and travels around the U.S. doing sound for big events. This was very practical for me, as I am working a lot with sound, but have never been properly trained in it. I am excited to use all of the things I learned during this workshop to improve our sound. The final thing, which was great about the training, is that we had the first snow of the year and boy was it beautiful!
