This last week we had our yearly Amazing race and training for the JV Summer interns. I have been to so many of these trainings that I could almost do the talks word for word. Thankfully, over the last two years they have been changing things up a little bit. It is still fun to be there and see all of the excited and nervous summer interns as they prepare for the summer.
For the Amazing race this summer, we started in Kyiv, Ukraine. This was my first time to Ukraine and it was quite interesting. We took 3 night trains and spent the time crossing borders, seeing three major cities and enjoying each others company. I had been running the race in the past, but this year I was helping with the race. It was a totally different feel to the race. It was just as hard as the race, but for different reasons. I really enjoyed being able to see all the teams and how they worked or did not work together throughout the race. It was really interesting to watch and gave me some real insight into leading in different ways as I watched the styles of different leaders. Although it was one of the harder races, everyone managed to finish and we had no troubles at the border. Praise God!
Finally everyone arrived at Intern training in beautiful Malenovice, Czech. I never get tired of going there. I was thankful to be able to spend time there with our interns and with some of my colleagues. It is also fun to be able to invest in the young interns there. Many of them only a year out of High school, with many fears, but also a lot of excitement. It is really a pleasure of mine to talk about what God is doing over here and to hear and talk to them about what God is doing in their lives.
