I have written about the Chase boys before. Gavin the younger of the two is one of my guys from the JV Kids camp in the summer. Their family moved to Slovakia last February and are serving with Fusion in our capital of Bratislava. The boys just finished one semester in a Slovak school and it was quite difficult for them, but it is neat to see how they are growing. Their parents went to the conference that my Dad was at and asked me if I could stay with the boys during the week. So as soon as the conference was starting I left my Dad in Krakow and headed for their house. It was a good week spend with laughs, fun, time in God’s word, and watching Lord of the Rings, the whole trilogy, which is quite long! It was great to spend every morning before school in God’s word and then talking about how it applied to our lives and praying together. Many days after schol we would have a jam session in their music room on piano, guitar, banjo, and drums. One of my favorite parts to the week is when I had them order pizza in slovak, over the phone. It is a new and very scary experience, or at least it was for me. It took them about 15 minutes on the phone and the manager even called back to make sure it was correct, but they did it! These two guys are very neat young men and I am very excited to see how God will use them here in Slovakia. Please pray for them as they continue to adjust to school and life. Can you imagine going to a school in a language you don’t speak? It can be very very frustrating! Keep them in your prayers!
